Employee Benefits Consultant, Indianapolis, Plainfield, Indiana
Stephen Russell, president, founded Russell Benefit Consulting in October of 2001. He
graduated from Indiana State University in 1991 with a B.S. in Finance.
Mr. Russell specializes in working with employers to solve
critical issues, such as incomplete coverage or excessively high premiums.
Mr. Russell is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute,
and is an active member of his home community, Plainfield Indiana. He
attends the Lakeview Christian Church, is a member of the Plainfield
Optimist League, and coaches for the Plainfield Little League.
Since graduating from ISU, he has worked for The Principal Financial
Group as a Pension Underwriter, and later promoted to Service Manager for
the State of Indiana.
In 1995 he was recruited by a large, well-established
brokerage firm as an employee benefits broker. During his six-year
tenure, he became the youngest vice-president in the
company’s 116 year history.
Mr. Russell opened Russell Benefits Consulting in Indianapolis in October
2001 with the purpose of using his expertise to provide a more personalized
form of service than larger brokerages are able to provide. His prime goal
is to help clients attract
and retain the highest quality employees for their businesses.
Working with national
accounts while at Principal Financial, and local businesses in Indiana, he
has built retirement plans for groups from as little as $10,000 under
management to over $100 million dollars under management.
