Types of Managed Care Dental Insurance Plans
Employee Managed Care Dental Insurance: Health Maintenance / Preferred
Provider Organization, Point-of-Service Plans, Indianapolis,
Indiana
Many types of managed care dental insurance plans are available, with or
without employer contribution toward the cost, for groups of two or
more. In addition to fully-insured indemnity plans, we can also
offer your employees cost-effective managed care dental options such
as:
- Dental Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) -
provides dental services through a network of designated
providers only. Use of an out-of-network dentist may require
insured to pay the entire bill
- Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) - provides
dental care to its members through a network of dentists who
offer discounted fees to its plan members. Out-of-network
dentists may be used, but charges above scheduled discount fees
are paid by the insured
- Point of Service (POS) Plans - allows members
to choose either an in-network dentist or a dentist not in the HMO network.
Out-of-network services usually require higher out-of-pocket
costs than in-network care
Programs can be designed to let your employees to select the
coverage option they want, either choosing a plan with lower
out-of-pocket expenses, or a more expensive plan with higher
premiums and/or out-of-pocket costs but offering more flexibility
and freedom of choice.
